I recently found myself in possession of a 10gal tank and a plethora of java ferns. After the tank was all sorted, I wandered over to the LFS to pick up a trio of females (they only had the three). I was curious as to whether or not there was a significant lifespan difference between the typical mutt betta(Found at Petsmart/Walmart/etc) and the showy fish carefully bred with pedigree and form in mind.
